#MicroPoetry|February ’15 Verses

Every month I tweet #MicroPoetry! In 140 characters, they are part prayer, thought, reflection, challenge or something in-between. I look forward to sharing them with you and hope that they may lead to reflection, musing and perhaps even discussion!

Good Morning #Winnipeg
North-wind says
cower & shiver
hide & quail
Into the gale we walk
bastion in tempest’s rage

Awakening: the longest road
tangents & trails distract
temptation & apathy entice
Journey’s end: Self may well arise

When development obscures displaced
When ledgers conceal the least
When people pontificate
may actions be the change

In advertisement’s din & consumerised imperfection
All my relations lift & embrace #dignity
Know you aren’t alone!

Good Morning #Winnipeg
Today paused in window’s frame
Through front door new day beckons
May #wonder be today’s story
150208

Gathered in time
church is not a place
but community
Unfettered by walls
#justice & #compassion
are dignity’s truth

Stand silently
solidarity speaks succinctly
In oppression’s midst & injustice’s mantra
Dignity cries & reply we shall

Hands hew homes
Feet flee fear
Sight spies snares
Into to dis-ease we walk
to free ourselves
as Other’s reflection

Good Morning #Winnipeg
Our lives unfold
anonymous & public
shared & alone
as #community’s agents
What shall we create?

Upon shadows’ cusp
we stand
At desert’s edge
we begin
We walk into timeless time
to prepare, reflect
listen & discern

Last year’s fires exhale
embers long silent
are ash transformed
With vertical then horizontal
#Lenten journey begins

Shadow’d #stories
& joyful tales
All are ‘t’rue
& as light shines
plots reveal
characters we
choose stage’s entrance

Good Morning #Winnipeg
As winter’s grip bites
in cold some suffer
May hearth’s heat spread
#dignity’s embrace to all

Regardless of intention
it transforms
Irrespective of privilege
it awakens
Simple compassion
kindness creates

As stream trickles to sea
smile leads to #Joy
As single flakes form glacier
individual choices plant #change
Begin…
