#MicroPoetry|January ’15 Verses

Every month I tweet #MicroPoetry! In 140 characters, they are part prayer, thought, reflection, challenge or something in-between. I look forward to sharing them with you and hope that they may lead to reflection, musing and perhaps even discussion!

Good Morning #Winnipeg
Whether Northend or St. Boniface
Elmwood or Transcona
May we recognise
one another as neighbour

In winter’s prairie grip
under Robin’s blue sky
along snow dressed path
red fox gliding
contrasts vista’s horizon

Good Morning #Winnipeg
May fear & violence’s clouds
evaporate when enemy’s visage
becomes companion’s embrace

She sings us into being
Harmony embraces falling tears
Tune dances cascading joy
She serenades beyond life’s lament

May #wonder dance:
In winter’s mantle
small mirthful tracks dress
snow-covered lawns
& feathered kin swirl in play

Words inundate
Verbose numbs
Diatribe deflects
Without silence
how might we hear?
Without pause
how shall we listen?

Good Morning #Winnipeg
Some benefit & others suffer:
May we share power with equity
so #diversity & #dignity bloom

We are one
Interrelated
Interconnected
Intertwined
Illusion’s isolated individual
evaporates as we share joy & sorrow

Upon pale blue dot
lives twirl
Upon fragile home
tears tumble
Upon verdant rock
dignity treasures

No Was
Never Will Be
Just Now
Choices past
are not chains
Simply reflective patterns
of how reflexive you might be

Good Morning #Winnipeg
Into mirror we look
#racism’s divide reflects
In community’s embrace
our healing begins

Food
Bread broken
Water shared
Hospitality extended
When dining rooms
transform into holy space
Stranger becomes kin

Water
Precious
Source of Life
Water
Contaminated
Blessing fouled
May all have access
to that which forms our being

Know that
there is no other
knitted together
artfully moulded
tenderly sculpted
bravely fitted
as you
be bold
Shine!
