#MicroPoetry|November ’14 Verses

Every month I tweet #MicroPoetry! In 140 characters, they are part prayer, thought, reflection, challenge or something in-between. I look forward to sharing them with you and hope that they may lead to reflection, musing and perhaps even discussion!

Light beckons homeward
from quark to particle
souls long to reunite
through swirling nebula
we awaken as stars’ dust

Schedules compete
& irony silences silence
In this moment
Now
rest invites
eyes closed
breath drawn
be still

Hunger neither constructed
nor poverty imagined
Labels of ‘Poor’ & ‘Uneducated’
=
The Other denied & classified

Good Morning #winnipeg
May today reveal the needs of others
in order that we might choose
solidarity’s healing walk

May our remembering
embrace stories known
& those silenced
May remembering
embrace dignity’s goal
realised for all

Dusk slips eventide
night meets dawn
at sun’s rise
doubt faces potential
fear confronts light
anxiety witnesses Hope

In celebration’s midst
as lights dress tree
garlands adorn door
Mindful
grief accompanies
in joy’s midst
tears fall

Good Morning #Winnipeg
May joy be revealed in loss
solace in fear
& may you
may we
be emboldened
to make it so

Holy Houses
daring darkness dawns
Worship’s embrace
violence’s vulgarity visits
May pursuing peace
be not discarded

Snow drifts blur biased borders
Wind ferrets fences’ facile façade
Winter’s grip requires
solidarity secured shelter

When skin’s pigment rationalises violence
When love’s call is hate painted
May dignity’s stewards solidarity stand

Laughter dances in grief’s tears
Joy holds loss’ weight tenderly
Kindness balances ire’s fire
& care tempers greed

Good Morning ‪#‎Winnipeg‬!‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
As Creator’s children
loved & cherished
May we illumine the way
for those dimness bound

False binaries
white-black
yellow-red
perpetuate division
In creation’s diverse variation
may all b afforded dignity

Ice grips breath
inhale: frost fragments
exhale: crystal clouds
In weather’s extreme
awing
lunar’scaped vista
greets

Parks silent
benches barren
paths untrodden
Elders’ wisdom waits
Lovers’ stories whisper
Children’s laughter echoes

#StopViolenceAgainstWomen
In shadows
survival’s wisdom thrives
When violence roars
life’s flame tenaciously flickers

Good Morning #Winnipeg
As Advent dawns in Hope’s song
May we embrace one another
aspiring to be compassionate peace
