Dear Seekers and Readers,

Happy New Year to each of you.

Thank you for your ongoing engagement and the many conversation for which I am most grateful! It is hard to believe this mailing list, and the subsequent social media presence of A Deacon’s Musing, began sixteen years ago with a group of five people who kindly chose to walk with me as I began my journey into diaconal ministry with The United Church of Canada. Though there are many more witnesses now, for each of you I give thanks.

As the new year unfolds, I am extending an invitation to those in the community who have the photo-bug. For the last few years I have been curating four photo collections on Facebook: Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. Though the albums connect with the Christian season of Advent, I have found they resonate year-round for people. As such, I add three images at a time to each album on a regular basis. All images are intentionally CC0 licensed, which means they have been provided copyright free. Though I always provide the source, this is important as it allows the images to be used in ways that help others share them in creative and generative ways.

Now, for that invitation. If you happen to be a photographer, have an interest in the medium, and are looking for a new project, I would love to collaborate with you to add to the collections. If this is of interest, please contact me. I look forward to this coming year of blogging and pray you each well in the midst of life’s unfolding.

With Light’s Blessings,

#ShineOn
