The #MicroPoetry of the blog began as a creative practice in 2012. Using the confines of twitter's 140 characters, this discipline has been a generative opportunity to use words to poetically muse. Starting in 2017, brief reflections became another way to explore the use of these verses as part prayer, thought, reflection, challenge or something in-between. I hope these monthly collections offer you space to be, reflect and consider how your own choices might help you and other #ShineOn.

How do we show care in the way we live each day?
Together, we see that real faith is not loud but steady, shown in simple acts and patient choices. We learn to put people first, to listen, and to do what helps even when it is quiet and unseen. Our habits shape who we become, and small actions build strong communities. We grow by practising kindness again and again, until it becomes natural. What begins inside us is made real through what we do, guiding us to live with purpose, humility, and hope in shared life for all people.

We often assume that power must be loud and forceful, yet our shared experience suggests a quieter influence can shape outcomes in lasting ways. In community and leadership, we recognise how patience, care, and restraint allow growth, trust, and direction to emerge without pressure. We learn that guidance does not need to dominate to be effective, and that presence grounded in attentiveness can foster change. Such an approach invites dignity, encourages participation, and honours the slow work of transformation within people and across our relations. In this, we find a path that is firm yet patient, shaping a hopeful common life.

Do we see how growth can guide us in quiet and hopeful ways?
Change sometimes comes gently or chaotically, helping us move forward even when we do not fully understand it. There is comfort in knowing that we are being shaped toward something good. We learn to trust what we feel and notice, even when it is small or unclear. This brings a sense of peace and steady purpose. We walk ahead with openness, ready to welcome what may come. In this way, we gain confidence, knowing that our path is forming in a way that supports who we are becoming together.

We recognise that life brings both struggle and renewal, and that a steady presence can be felt even in hard moments. We hold this awareness as a shared anchor, helping us stay open to hope when things feel heavy. We see that endurance and gladness are not opposites but part of a wider balance shaping our lives. Together, we seek a calm centre that honours pain and growth, leading us towards kindness, deeper connexion, and patient care each day in simple ways that build trust, bring courage, and guide our actions with gentle attention and respect for others and ourselves.

How do we stand firm when deep pain enters our lives and a dearest companion is gone?
We learn that care can grow when we let feelings be seen and heard. We sit together, we listen, we give space for each other to speak or stay quiet. In these times, we hold one another with kindness and respect. We notice that healing takes time and cannot be rushed. As we walk this path side by side, we find strength in being present, in simple acts of support, and in a shared hope that carries us forward with calm and careful trust.

We live in a world where pressure can drive separation, yet we choose a steadier path. In moments of strain and delay, we learn to wait with care, trusting that calm attention brings understanding. Together, we recognise that endurance shapes our character and deepens our awareness. We are reminded that unity is not accidental but nurtured through daily practice, like threads woven into a strong fabric that holds firm. Even when voices around us grow harsh, we commit to gentleness and connexion, sustaining one another through quiet strength and shared purpose. Guiding our steps forward together each day with resolve.

How can we stay steady when life feels uncertain and tense?
We see how fear and conflict can pull people apart and make things feel unclear. Yet we also believe there is a deeper sense of balance that we can learn to notice. When we slow down, we begin to see small signs of calm and connexion in everyday life. We choose not to give in to fear or harsh division. Instead, we look for peace and understanding. Together, we grow in patience and hope, learning that steadiness comes gently, as we pay attention to the quiet patterns that guide and hold us.

When we begin to choose to put people before self, this choice shapes how we live together. We learn to notice worth in every person and treat each life with care. We step in, listen, share, and act, refusing to ignore need. We carry one another through hard times and stand close when life feels heavy. Our actions build bonds that hold us together and create spaces where no one stands alone. As we give, we grow, and our shared life becomes stronger, gentler, and hope begin more apparent with each practiced act.

Your reflections are most welcome!
