Every month I tweet #MicroPoetry! In 140 characters, they are part prayer, thought, reflection, challenge or something in-between. I look forward to sharing them with you and hope that they may lead to reflection, musing and perhaps even discussion!
Present or Share? Expert or Companion? Consumer or Citizen? Leader or Sojourner? Who are you? Who do want to be? You choose
What Myth paints the world into which you walk each day? What character are you on the canvas? Which parable adds contrast to the tableau?
Feathers worn, feet calloused, paws parched. Eyes weary long for respite. Breathe deeply, sit in silence & let go …
To whom do you owe your allegiance? Who/what claims ownership of you? Now, ask yourself if you are free? If not, what are you going to do?
Facing northward, the last Jack Pine stands in a clearcut-scape. Roots cling shallow Shield. Alone facing the wind wall she falls in silence
From the sidelines there’s symmetry. In the scrum, grounded chaos. From only the sidelines arises cynicism & only in the fray exhaustion
Magpies surround coyote. Coyote nourished by their feathered kin. Lifegiver, Lifetaker. All are intimately bound to the cycle of life
The integrated self witnesses our extraordinary everyday lives when balance is attained between reflection & action, praying & digging
Swirling grief: From the centre, waves cascade outward. Chaos follows-anchors lost. May there be active listening in silence & a caring hand
Clarity of heart doesn’t mean integration with mind. Certainty of thought doesn’t translate to the soul. At the centre balance is found
Perhaps today is that day when you listen to that deep yearning? Embrace the whisper that there is more, that the mundane is light-filled
It’s still raining with no reprieve in sight. Clouds darken & sun is lost. Breathe deeply, eyes closed. May light touch you as dawn arrives
In this room tears were shed, in that door frame life was birthed & there chronic pain was endured. What will you paint on the walls?
Returning: From where have you come? Have there been tears? Laughter? Sorrow? Joy? Pause, make space to reflect & embrace the Light you are
Dandelion yellow on forest green tapestry. Robin’s red dapples pale blue sky. Life is filled with joy & challenge. May you shine this day!
Masks: we all wear them. Sometimes they protect, other times they obscure. When you look in the mirror, do you see your true self?
Does tech that blips & bleeps, pinches & touches enrich or abstract your relationships? The former = a tool’s gift. The latter = distraction
On back black wing, ravens toboggan. Kittens balled roll intertwined. Play brings joys & opens learning. Embrace wonder & shine!
Assumptions unchecked stereotype. Words unfiltered cut. May there be pause before air vibrates voice, thus honouring the Holy in the Other.
Across straight halls, down winding corridors, up steep ramps & down meandering stairs, doorways untrodden lie. Into which shall you walk?
Holy One break open our hearts. May we move from debate to conversation, winner/loser to Sister & Brother. May we shine, not merely twinkle!
Bordered souls, bookend’d potential & hampered growth. You’re a spark of the Divine & energy of Creation without end. Know no limits
