There are multiple ways to share the A Deacon’s Musing blogs. One way is to organise them based upon such categories as Fiction, Poetry and Visual. Another way is to sort them around Features such as Feather’s Fall, TEDxThe Story of Then or Vignettes, I suspect there is no perfect way to do it. Each hopefully speaks to a particular reader of seeker’s interest or however the muse might be whispering upon each visit. An archive, therefore, feels like an appropriate way to further share these various reflections. I hope, then, that this page proves as one additional way to further engage and create conversation!

Life and the journey, it’s always funny how we get from there to here, then over there, and always find ourselves back here! One of the ways I found you … or you found me … is on account of my penchant for conflict. I like conflict … it’s a Zen-thing! While some get anxious, concerned, nervous, fearful … I get calm! Always have – just the way I’m wired, I guess.

Spiritual Practices and Disciplines have been, relatively recently, reintroduced to many Protestants. There are many reasons that are nuanced throughout Christian history why this is and the explanations are shaded grey throughout the human story. It’s fair to say the Reformation's turning away from these Catholic practices has softened enough that there seems to be some space to recognise, perhaps, that some of what was left behind can be helpful as men and women endeavour to be Christ’s Disciples.
